I now have a better understanding of what’s going on in the background and how I use this medium. Thanks for the web sights to look at.

Edison, your presentation was well executed, and informative.

For the 3 years that I have had my website, I relied on Constant Contact, photo’s, and content from my CPA practice. After watching your video, I am interested in adding videos.

You talked about many things related to Web 2.0. Any opinions on what Web 3.0 will look like?

Starting a new business can bring joy and terror, often at the same time! Congratulations on hitting one of the highlights that every new business owner needs to know!

This just goes to show that you need a professional in web marketing to design and market your website.

If you don’t have one get one. If you have one get a professional to optimize it for you.

Great informormation that I did not know about. Now I know what SEO means and the importance of it. Looking forward to future videos

    Thanks Edison.

I have taken a few classes on marketing at the chamber, from you. What I find really intresting about this video and your classes is you do not give earth shattering secrets. You basicly give info that the business owner starting out can relate to, or the business owner that has been around the block a few times can refesh themselves
    with your ideas.

    Hi, Edison,

Good luck giving the resource guide away! 478 pages! That’s a not a guide, that’s a TOME :) I think I’ve seen things like that at the British Museum, hand-calligraphed by Medieval monks!

I want to thank you for your seminars at the chamber, and your snippets of mentoring over the last couple years. I hope your work with the Chamber helps your business go places you never dreamed of :)

As a web designer and programmer I know enough about search engine optimization (SEO) to be able to say that it takes a 478 page manual to start to understand it. I don’t specialize in SEO, I actually refer clients to someone who has time to read a 478 page manual on SEO :) I would be hard-pressed to stay on top of the latest trends in SEO while staying on top of design trends and programming websites.

Anyway, good luck to you, your winners, and the Chamber. Terrific series, keep up the great work! See you soon,

Thank you so much for the great video! My husband designed our website and we just put it up this week - so this is very timely! It has a page where people can register with us, but I would like to do more with it down the line and you gave some exciting ideas to explore - blogging, professional networking, youtube, etc. It’s a whole new world! It will be good to have some more proactive steps to take, rahter than wallow in all the economic doom and gloom that is seeming to surround us. Thank you again,
    Hilary Paulison, Delaware-Hudson CSA.

Typical Edison! Planned well, delivered well, understandable and peppered with precise information. Plus the chance to win the How-To-Manual. These things take time. So, thank you for all the time you spend helping all of us.

This was a very valuable video. The Interactive Museum is working on improving its website, and every bit of information that we can garner is valuable to us. We are all novices at website design, and would like to be able to do this ourselves. I wrote down all your highlights from the video as notes. They give us a starting point.
Thank you for a very informative video

Thanks for the valuable information. I have been managing my school’s website for the past 3 years, but need to learn more to make it better. At this time it is used as a way for perspective parents to get more information about the school and also for current parents to stay informed about special events, school closings, calendar updates and the like. Ideally, I would like to add a photo gallery and some video of children’s productions (concerts, plays, authors’ teas, etc.) as well as an interactive page for each teacher in the school. We have also started to send information to parents via email rather than paper and I think this method actually works better as papers sometimes stay in children’s backpacks for days where as email often gets read immediately. The hints you gave about web 2.0 and blogger.com will be very helpful. We have done some things to optimize our website but would love to learn more. We just started looking into pay per click listings which also seem to be a good way to optimize your listing. Thanks again.

A website is a great tool. and, like any other tool it has to be used correctly to get the best result. if i use a hammer to try and cut wood i’m not going to get to far. so it is with a website. Since i have had my website up & running for only 2 months i have a long way to go in learning how to use this great tool. your seminars & videos are helping me to gain those skill sets and having the SEO guide sure would help.
thanks for the opportunity to view the video

Thank you again for timely and useful information for our website. We have been taking some of the information we received from you in your last presentation at the chamber and working to update our website. We keep talking about creating a blog, I just can’t seem to sit down and do it, but you have given me another little nudge to do so. I think with a 478 page manual, you need to find yourself a publisher! Good luck - you offer comprehensive, easy to understand information (it should be on the shelf in Borders - you actually offer some great information and I can’t believe you wouldn’t outsell many of the confusing books out there).
I will be looking into linkedin when I get a chance. Keep up the good work.

    Hi Edison:

I really appreciate that you and the Orange County Chamber of Commerce continue to keep me informed down here in Raleigh, NC where we moved two years ago. You did a great job with the presentation of the information (something I pay a lot of attention to as a media trainer) and the content was also useful for everyone, whether a beginner or advanced user of this internet-based world.

By coincidence, I was invited to join Linked In today, so I took the plunge and did that. It will be interesting to see where it takes me as I continue to try to develop my consulting business.

I know I need help with SEO, so I’d love to be considered for your publication, which I am sure is full of good hints, as is everything that has come from you.

These comments are all great and I will be choosing the three I like most, very soon.

This means that anyone still has a chance to get a free copy of the manual.

Here’s a helpful tip for anyone making a post:

Make sure you indicate your company name and web site address, in case someone reading these comments has a need for your services. This does not mean that you should blatantly promote yourself, but it is a good way to let others know a little about you and anyone will be able to get more information from your web site.

Also, be specific with your answer, as far as answering the question in the video.

Again, thanks for your feedback, and please continue to support this program by telling your peers about this great resource.

    Keep up the great work,

    Edison Guzman

    Hi Edison,

This video was very informative. I have been working on building my own business now for two years and have just started my second website. I have had them both done professionally as my first attempt at a website wasn’t as interactive or as professional as I would have liked.

I have also gone to the expense in the past for paying for SEO; let’s just say the results were less than impressive. Your information you gave in this video was more helpful than any I had received from the optimization company. I had no idea that blogging and interactive sites could increase your businesses potential. I will definitely be checking out blogger.com, linkedin.com and finding out about how video could work with my websites.

Reviewing the information I received today from your video and how helpful you were has opened another door for me, so now all I need do is walk in. Information like this should be shared, so I will be sure to tell everyone I know about the Chamber of Commerce and the resources they provide.

    Thank You,

    Katrina

Thank you Edison! Your timing could not have been better! I have spent the last 4 weeks trying picking a company to do SEO for my site. Running a business is enough work, and although I don’t consider myself techno impaired, I don’t know enough anout the aspect of my site and optimizing it. It was a amazing how you mentioned that they would tell me that I would be the top on search engines google, MSN and yahoo.
I found this video very helpful and happened to be exactly what I was looking for!
Ok, so now that you know I need to win the manuel, did I mention that you are handsome and funny? ( just trying to optimize my response to get on top.. that’s what it’s about .. isn’t it?)

  22. Hi Edison-

Great video (and Rich Rossi, great video production, as always!). I have had a website for 6 years, and am starting to add audio clips of my radio interviews. I am launching an E-Zine (electronic newsletter) to keep clients inspired and motivated on their organizing journey, and will soon have video available on my site as well for those who want to get a glimpse of my speaking abilities. I have not jumped on the Blog bandwagon yet, as I do not want to create one until I can commit the time to updating it frequently (ever the organizer!). I am looking into setting up social networking accounts on Linked In, Twitter, Face Book, etc. and will set up a You Tube account also that I can link back to my site for more examples of my speaking engagements. So much to do to stay on top of the Web 2.0 opportunities! Thanks so much for the great information, and the reminder to keep moving forward with internet marketing tools!

Edison, Thank you for all of your valuable information. I have learned a lot just in a short period of time. We, Electric Incorporated, are a very small business and have just re-bulit our web-site, which I thought was looking good until I heard all you had to say:) I am looking forward now to building our web-site to be as strong and powerful as possible. Hi Mr. Guzman,
Thank you very much for all the valuable information. It has been a challenge to rebuild my business after loosing my husband in a tragic accident however it has been individuals like yourself that have granted new ideas and many helpful tools along the way.
I am using my website (a1fantasticshine.vpweb.com) as a basic advertising tool at this time. It communicates that a mobile/ brick & mortar detailing business existing in Orange, California for the car enthusists. It is a work in progress.

At this time my stratigies for using the website to attract more customers are focused on word of mouth, flyers and brochures. These paper products and verbage are the pathway to the website as a proof of existence only. I have many ideas but I am seeking the tools to help me execute the ideas and attract the unseen customers. I also desire to implement distributorship with merchants which would save time, money and gas to purchase detailing supplies for other nearby colleges.

I have the ultimate goal in mind of being user friendly for my customers. I will implement a search engine, links for specialties, advertise my compliance and compasion as a Green Friendly business. Things such as these would allow me to get the most out of my advertising as well as making it more interactive for car enthusiasts all over California and beyond. On my website my car family (customers and fellow detail technicians) will not only spend money based on quality products but make appointments founded on reliability in executing restoration tasks. A-1 Fantastic Shine takes pride in standing alone in a clear exhibition of common passions for both land and water vehicles for all of Californians regardless of economic status or creed.

I really enjoyed your presentation. It was very informative.

    Edison,

I thought the utilization of your website was great. I am currently maximizing my website to its fullest. I use it as a resource, brochure, sales tool and store front. I am getting more familiar with the social networks but have not really jumped on that band wagon as of yet. I am considering doing more of that in the future. One goal at time. I have been able to help reduce clutter by only using minimal paper for my product and company information. This is due to the information provided on my website. Clients and potential clients can visit and take advantage of the content rich site.

I think these videos are a great idea and I look forward to learning more.
